Schools have their own techniques and curriculums in delivering education and more importantly have the students absorbed this education and will it benefit them in the future.

Let’s have a greater impact on the young or adult learner and broaden their education base. Let’s embark on a field trip that takes them out of their comfort zone and places them in an environment that they are unfamiliar with. An environment where life and survival is considerably more difficult than what they are used to, an environment where an education is a privilege not a right, an environment with minimum resources for education.

Let’s provide an experience that will open their minds, permit them to appreciate more the difficulties in life, respect what they have been provided and hopefully assist in moulding them into better people.

Let’s place them at the grass roots level of village education and see how it compares to their world of education. See if they can cope with no electricity, no stationery, no computers, no sporting facilities, limited tutors, leaking roofs and so forth.

From this exposure we can be assured that they will depart with a greater appreciation and understanding of life, be grateful for the education available to them and respect the environment they live in.

More importantly, however, is their presence - imparting knowledge and goodwill to those less fortunate.
